Background
After the success of
National conference on Integrating Mathematical Science and
Spirituality during December 21-23, 2009 at University of Delhi
we now announce the National Workshop on The Ontology of
Consciousness: Integrating Mathematics, Physics and Spirituality
during December 17 - 19, 2012 in New Delhi.
In all early civilizations, the study of the physical sciences
was neither formalized nor separated from other branches of
knowledge. In India science and spirituality have always gone
together as the roots being same – Vedas. Science and
Spirituality are the two dominant forces involving deep
intellectual, philosophical and psychological approaches for the
well-being of mankind. Consciousness theory is vital for science
but misunderstood widely. We need to discuss the ontology of
consciousness. Vedanta is the original source of a complete
ontology of consciousness. The proposed conference intends to
initiate discussions on logical – mathematical approach to
understand the nature of consciousness, interconnected and
inseparable patterns of energy and the mathematics of quantum
physics and its relation to spirituality and cosmic self.
The Rationale
Recognizing
the importance and place of the outer and inner sciences,
the conference will make the participants learn to integrate
both to create harmony in our lives at all levels. Our
technical capabilities are increasing at an enormous speed
as compare to the development of values in modern societies.
This is creating almost an empty culture. We need a broadly
accepted spirituality in the present time that gives us
purpose and meaning beyond the necessities of daily
existence.
The Focus
There will be various panel discussions and resource persons
delivering more theoretical kind of talks under the broad
theme of “Ontology of Consciousness: Integrating
Mathematics, Physics and Spirituality”. This broad theme
will contain the thoughts related to relationship between
Physics and Metaphysics, origins of Mathematics in
Sanskrit, Vedantic perspectives of mind and consciousness
and systematic spiritual practices for the realization of
real intelligence.
